Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of WordRaid, an online team word-guessing game available at wordraid.fun, in any country. By creating an account, joining as a guest or using any feature of the game, you confirm that you have read, understood and fully agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use WordRaid.

Acceptance and definitions

These Terms are an agreement between you (player or user) and the WordRaid Team, the team responsible for operating WordRaid. Using the service, even without registering, means accepting these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

In this document, "service", "game" or "platform" means WordRaid, including the website, matches, social features, account systems, virtual items and any related features.

  • "Account" is the record that identifies the player, created by signing in with Discord, with Google or with an email and password, or used temporarily as a guest.
  • "Credits" and "virtual items" are digital goods with no real monetary value, usable only within WordRaid.
  • "User content" is any material you submit, such as your nickname, chat messages and avatar image.

About WordRaid

WordRaid is a turn-based multiplayer game in which teams compete by guessing words from clues given by the leader of the round. Matches can be played in different modes and formats, in casual mode or in competitive (ranked) mode.

  • Rooms can be open, password-protected or private, with different numbers of teams and players per team.
  • Game modes include variations such as Closed Clue, Open Clue, Time Attack, Survival and Rotating Leader.
  • The service includes social features such as profile, avatar, friends list, private messages, room and match chat, achievements and rankings.
  • WordRaid uses real-time communication (WebSocket) and may evolve, adding, changing or removing features at any time.

Eligibility and minimum age

WordRaid is intended for users aged at least 13. By using the game, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old or the minimum age required to consent to data processing in your country, whichever is higher. In some countries of the European Economic Area, this age may be as high as 16.

Users who are minors under the law of their country may only use the service with the consent and under the supervision of their parents or legal guardians, who are responsible for the minor's actions, including any purchases.

Features that involve payment are intended for users with full legal capacity or, in the case of minors, require the express authorization of their parents or guardians.

Account, registration and security

  • You can access WordRaid as a guest or sign in with your Discord account, your Google account or an email and password. The information you provide must be true and up to date.
  • You are solely responsible for the security of your account and for all activity carried out through it. Do not share your access, session or credentials.
  • The WordRaid Team will never ask for your password, access code or payment details through chat, private message or outside the official channels.
  • Report any unauthorized use of your account immediately through the official contact channels.

Rules of conduct and fair play

When using WordRaid, you agree to behave respectfully and not to harm other players' experience or the integrity of the game. It is forbidden to:

  • Use cheats, automation, bots, scripts, exploits or any unfair advantage, especially in competitive mode.
  • Engage in harassment, hate speech, racism, discrimination, threats, bullying or any form of abuse against other users.
  • Post content that is illegal, offensive, sexual involving minors, violent, misleading, spam or that infringes the rights of others.
  • Try to access restricted areas, overload, attack or compromise the security and operation of the service.
  • Fix results, manipulate rankings, create multiple accounts to evade penalties, or trade accounts and items outside the game.

User content

  • You are solely responsible for the content you submit, including your nickname, messages and avatar image, and you guarantee that you hold the necessary rights to that content.
  • By submitting content, you grant the WordRaid Team a free, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display and reproduce that content solely for operating and promoting the service.
  • The team may moderate, hide or remove content that violates these Terms or the law, and may keep records as required by law.

Credits, virtual items and purchases

WordRaid offers WCoins (the in-game currency), perks and virtual items. WCoins are bought with money; VIP and shop items are exchanged for WCoins inside the game.

WCoins are sold by Xsolla, the official reseller of WordRaid (merchant of record). At checkout, the seller is the Xsolla group company stated in your purchase confirmation, which processes the payment, issues the receipt and collects the taxes. The purchase is also subject to the Xsolla terms of use (https://xsolla.com/eula) and the Xsolla privacy policy (https://xsolla.com/privacypolicy). The WordRaid Team delivers the WCoins to your account and does not receive or store card or bank details.

  • Credits and virtual items are personal-use licenses within the game, have no real monetary value, cannot be transferred outside the game and cannot be exchanged for money.
  • Prices, bundles and benefits are shown at the time of purchase, in the applicable currency, and may change for future purchases.
  • Right of withdrawal: depending on your country, you may be entitled to cancel the purchase of digital content within a legal period (for example, 14 days in the European Economic Area/United Kingdom or 7 days in Brazil). This right may be lost when you request and agree to the immediate delivery of the digital item and it has already been used or consumed. Items that have been used, fully or partially, are not refundable unless required by law.
  • In case of an incorrect charge or a payment problem, contact Xsolla support at https://help.xsolla.com or contact us at the contact email, with the order number shown in your purchase confirmation.
  • When a payment is refunded or disputed, the WCoins from that purchase are removed from the account, even if they have already been spent (the balance may become negative, and the next WCoins cover the difference). A refund requested directly from Xsolla or from the payment method, and a dispute with the bank or card issuer (chargeback), put the account under review and may suspend it until the team checks it.

Advertising

WordRaid is free to play and is supported, in part, by advertising shown through Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Ads help keep the service online for all users. Ads are identified as such and do not imply endorsement of third-party products or services.

The processing of data related to advertising, including the use of cookies, is described in the Privacy Policy. For users subject to laws that require prior consent, personalized advertising depends on your choice in the cookie consent banner.

WordRaid offers an optional VIP subscription, exchanged for WCoins, that, among other visual and comfort benefits, removes ads while browsing and playing. VIP is a way to support the project and does not affect the fairness of matches: winning still depends on skill. Nothing essential to the game experience is locked behind payment. The existence of VIP as a paid benefit with ad-free browsing does not affect the availability of the free, ad-supported version for all other users.

Intellectual property

The WordRaid name, brand, logo, visual identity, texts, source code, images and other elements of the game are protected by intellectual property rights and belong to the WordRaid Team or its licensors.

Copying, modifying, distributing, reverse engineering or commercially exploiting any part of the service without express authorization is forbidden.

Availability, maintenance and disclaimer of warranties

  • The service is provided "as is" and "as available". The team makes efforts to keep the game online and secure, but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • The service may undergo maintenance, updates, instability or interruptions, scheduled or not.
  • WordRaid may be in a testing phase (beta), with features subject to change, data reset or removal.

Suspension and termination

  • You can stop using WordRaid at any time and request the deletion of your account and your data through the official channels.
  • The WordRaid Team may suspend or terminate the access of users who violate these Terms or the law, or who put other players or the service at risk.
  • Termination does not give the right to a refund of credits or items already used, except in the cases provided by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the WordRaid Team is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data, loss of profits or unavailability of the service, nor for the conduct of third parties, including other players.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including the mandatory consumer guarantees and protections of your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time to reflect changes in the service or in the law. The current version will always be available on this page, with its update date.

Significant changes may be announced within the game. Continued use after the update means acceptance of the new version.

Governing law and dispute resolution

Unless otherwise required by law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the country where the WordRaid Team operates. Regardless of this, you keep all the mandatory rights granted by the law of your country of residence, including consumer protection and data protection rules such as the GDPR (European Union and United Kingdom), the LGPD (Brazil) and the CCPA/CPRA (California, USA), where applicable.

We will always seek an amicable solution through the contact channels. Where the law allows, consumers may bring any dispute before the courts of their place of residence.
